RIP Les Paul

This week, the music world lost the “Wizard of Waukesha” due to complications from pneumonia.

Les Paul was born Lester William Polfus in 1915 in Waukesha, WI. His interest in music prompted him to build his own radio and start playing guitar, both at age 9. In 1941, Paul built his first solid body electric guitar and forever changed the sound of rock and roll.
Not only was Paul a gifted musician who could play many types of music well, he also was a pioneer in recording technology and even came up with the first eight-track tape recorder.
If you are in the Milwaukee area and are interested in learning more about Les Paul, Discovery World has a wonderful interactive Les Paul exhibit suitable for fans of all ages.
