After BlogHer ’09 – Really "in real life"
This year’s BlogHer theme was “In Real Life” which was, in fact, kind of ironic. ‘Cause I woke up this morning “in real life” and, let me tell you, it was nothing like BlogHer!
No gorgeous city skyline view out my window when I woke up. No giant breakfast spread and prompt waiter to clear my dishes. No one to make my bed and clean my bathroom while I was off doing my own thing. No lavishly prepared lunch waiting for me at noon. No massages available when my shoulders felt a little tight. No one throwing swag at me as I walked through the hallway. No inspiring readings of amazing blog posts to make me laugh and cry all within the same five minutes.
But I am home to my REAL real life. And I got to wake up to my son’s giant smile when he realized I was actually home. I got to have breakfast with my hubby and son, who I missed so much. I got to spend the day walking through our local county fair watching Little J be amazed at everything and anything. And I got to lay in bed with Little J as he was settling down and laugh for twenty minutes over nothing at all.
BlogHer was awesome, but I love MY real life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
