Bosch ICON Wiper Blades *Contest and Giveaway*

I have always been fascinated with violent weather.  When I was teaching 5th grade in New Hampshire, one of our science units was on weather and I absolutely loved learning about how lighting works and what causes wind.  The highlight of the unit was watching some storm chasers go after tornadoes and get  (too close for my taste) footage of the storms.

Then I moved to Wisconsin.  I had never really thought of Wisconsin as having tornadoes.  The snow I was prepared for, the violent summer weather – um, not so much.  The first time the tornado siren went off in the school where I was teaching fourth grade, I looked at the students blankly and wondered aloud what that noise was and what we were supposed to do!  Five minutes later we were all huddled under a table in the school’s basement. Good thing it was just a drill!

(Note to school administrators – when you hire a teacher from out of state, do NOT assume s/he knows what a tornado siren sounds like or will know what to do when it goes off!)

While having several tornado scares has tempered my fascination a little bit, I do still love watching Storm Chasers on the Discovery Channel.  Reed Timmer and his gang actually drive inside tornadoes (shudder) but they do it with the right equipment to protect them.  They have the “Dominator,” a technologically-designed vehicle that is built to collect the data that they need while also keep them from getting injured or killed.

Learn more about the “Dominator” in this fascinating video:

One of the features that helps to keep the “Dominator” safe is a set of Bosch ICON wiper blades. How can wiper blades help keep you safe in a storm, you ask?  Just ask anyone who has ever tried to drive in less than perfect weather with worn out or cruddy wiper blades!  One of the most important things when driving is the ability to see where you are going.  Good wiper blades help with that.

The design of the Bosch ICON  distributes more uniform pressure along the entire length of the blade for ultimate all-season performance that lasts up to 40% longer than other premium wiper blades.

In celebration of the release of this amazing wiper blade, Bosch is holding a special contest right now on their Facebook page.  You can enter to win a prize package that includes: an iPad 2 with a weatherproof case (to keep it dry while you are storm chasing!), a signed copy of Reed Timmer’s new book, a copy of Season 4 of Storm Chasers, and a set of Bosch wipers (of course!).

But wait!!! One grand prize winner will win a 5 night all expense paid VIP storm chasing trip for them and a friend with Reed Timmer.  How cool would that be?

Now, I can’t offer you a storm chasing trip (I wish!!) but I am giving away a Bosch prize pack to one lucky Wisconsin Mommy reader.  The prize pack valued at $195 includes:
• A set of Bosch ICON wiper blades
• “Storm Chasers – Season 4” DVD
• A signed copy of Reed Timmer’s book “Into The Storm”
• A Bosch C3 6V/12V Fully Automatic 4-Mode Battery Charger

It’ll keep you safe in all kinds of weather, right?

  1. I really do not like driveing on icy roads. I also do not like driving in bad storms during tornado season. I watch one touch down across the road from my house when I was young and have seen the damage they can do.

  2. I hate to try in icy weather and then add snow to it!! Thats one big headache!!!lmmccollister@gmail dot com

  3. When I lived in the deep south, I thought that heavy rain was the worst. Now that I live in Denver, I’ve had to learn to drive on snow/ice–that’s worse!

  4. I thought the ice and snow in wisconsin were the worst until i spent two summers in the heat, thunderstorms and tornados of Oklahoma a few years back. People STOP whining about the snow. Having to crawl underground to survive is much worse

  5. I don’t like to drive in icy weather. Seems my vehicle goes all over the road and it’s more dangerous when there’s ice on the roads. Thanks.

  6. I hate driving in snow. It makes for some dangerous roads in my area because we do not get much snow, and then other drivers become very unpredictable..

  7. I don’t like driving in any weather (snow, rain, sleet) AND I don’t like driving at night!

  8. Worst weather to drive in for me is without a doubt snow (or I guess anything frozen, freezing rain is rarer but worse than snow). I hate it because not only is it slippery but you can’t even see where the lanes are on the road!

  9. I used to live in WI, and the worst was the day after a big snow storm, after everything had time to freeze over night, but before the plows/salt trucks had time to make their rounds.

  10. Believe it or not, I don’t mind driving in winter weather… I find it to be kinda fun. I really hate super HOT summer weather though where the sun is so bright its hard to see and you have to have your windows down so all the smog and noise from outside comes in. I truly hate that.

  11. One of the reasons I moved to Florida is because I DESPISE driving in snow and ice! Scares me to no end!

  12. It is definately driving in icy weather. At least with snow you have some control especially if you have a 4 wheel drive

  13. I work at the top of a mountain which seems to have a different weather system than 4 miles down the mountain where I live, so I hate to drive in the snow. It is very steep and I grit my teeteeth the whole way down!

  14. I don’t really like driving in any kind of weather other than sunny! LOL But my least favorite is ice for sure!

  15. I don’t really hate driving in any weather but I really dislike when there is dangerous weather and other people on the road are driving like idiots and don’t turn on lights and slow down in fog etc.
