Bathroom Makeover with Glidden Testers #GliddenTesters

I have a thing about painting.  For some reason, I can’t seem to get myself out of a very conservative tan pallet.  Somewhere along the line, a realtor or someone said to me “Paint the walls a neutral color and accessorize with bolder colors.”


Not that it’s bad advice.  It just gets, well, boring.  And it’s led to me having a house where basically all the walls are some sort of a tan color.


Not any more!  I am dubbing this the “summer of color”.  I had already started transforming the kitchen and living room into a beautiful shade of butternut squash when I was asked to participate in a shop using Glidden testers.  


I was thrilled with the idea.  When I began looking for the perfect paint for my kitchen, I spent hours pouring over paint chips.  I taped them all up to my wall and looked at them in different light and at different times of the day.  Eventually I settled on one and went out and bought a gallon to get me started.

I painted the main wall and waited anxiously for it to dry so that I could admire my new beautiful (you guessed it – tan – wall).  When the paint dried, I was a little dismayed to realize that I had just painted it the exact same color it already was.  Okay, the color had a different name, but it was really the same color.


Glidden testers help people like me (you know – those who instinctually gravitate back to the same two colors) move into new areas by allowing us to try a sample of a color before making a gallon commitment to it.  The testers are already mixed up and have a brush built in!
