Answers at Walgreens Helps Ease My Pain #WalgreensAnswers

CB-white-script-400With trying to create a healthier lifestyle comes increasing the amount of movement in my day.  I started back on the C25K (Couch to 5K) program and have been building up my endurance and running more.  As it has in the past, plantar fasciitis reared its ugly head – or foot in this case. Having gotten a diagnosis from a doctor in the past, I didn’t feel the need to go in for an appointment, but was interested in hearing what some other treatment options might be. (My doctor had prescribed Advil, ice, and staying off my feet.)

I was headed into my local Walgreens to pick up a few other things and thought this would be a great chance to give their Answers at Walgreens program a test drive.  Normally, I would just talk to the pharmacist but I was headed in at a time when he wouldn’t be there so I decided to take advantage of the online 24/7  Pharmacy Chat Program.  In just a few minutes, I had several suggestions to try.

I headed into my local Walgreens.  Before exploring my pain control options, I grabbed some Thank You cards for LJ to send out from his birthday party and a few school supplies we had not been able to find other places.  I was already feeling like it had been a successful shopping trip!

Next, I headed over to the Foot Care section where there were lots of options for me to try.  There were several kinds of orthotic  inserts to choose from.  There was also a brace to wear when sleeping. I found a helpful brochure with all kinds of information as well as coupons for the products I was considering.

I wound up choosing an insert specifically designed for planter fasciitis.

I found the Pain Care section.  There was another Answers pamphlet there to help me choose the right pain reliever for my situation.

I decided that ibuprofen was the best choice for my condition and loved that the Walgreens brand was on sale for considerably less than the name brand bottle.  I grabbed some of that as it was supposed to help with the pain and swelling.

I headed home already feeling better that I now had several tools to help me combat my problem and (hopefully) stay active.  I also love that I have Walgreens in my corner to help answer any questions that might come up in the future!
