Noah’s Ark

When I first started telling folks back East that I was moving to Wisconsin, I got the usual comments about cheese and beer. But I noticed that people who had actually lived here (or visited enough to really know about it) were all talking about something else – the Wisconsin Dells. If you are not familiar with “The Dells” (as it is affectionately known in these parts), it is the Waterpark Capital of the World. Yep, you read that right – the whole world. I’m thrilled to be partnering with our sponsor, Noah’s Ark, to explore how you and your family can have some fun in The Dells this summer and !

The Wisconsin Dells originally started back when the glacier passed through these parts and carved some pretty spectacular sandstone formations. A few years later (that’s a joke – it was a LOT of years later!) humans came along and decided the Dells was a pretty cool place to spend our gorgeous Wisconsin summers and wouldn’t it be fun to splash around in some water on those hot summer days? And the waterparks began going up! Forty years ago, the largest waterpark IN AMERICA was built and they are celebrating on every inch of their 85 acres!

If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of checking out Noah’s Ark, let me paint a picture for you. (I do have a few actual pictures here as well, but they just don’t do it justice!) First, there are more than fifty waterslides – FIFTY!! We are talking about not one, but TWO lazy rivers, two MASSIVE wave pools, four kid areas, an 18-hole minigolf  course (yes, this is brand new!!) and a 4D theater. You can also hunker down in one of 33 Cabanas located throughout the park.

And since it is such a special celebration – 40 is big one, right?? – there are special events going on all summer. Cool things like:

A Father’s Day belly flop contest. Sunday, June 16th will see all the brave dads flopping for the chance to win prizes and maybe even be crowned The Big Kahuna! Not only will general admission be just $24.99, but $2 from every ticket will benefit the Jimmy V Foundation.

Noah’s Ark Chalk Festival. On July 6th and 7th, nearly a dozen of the country’s best street artists will be transforming the walkways throughout the park into eye-popping art that will show off stunning 3D effects and vivid colors. The Chalk Festival is free and a wristband is needed if you’d like to access the water attractions.

Arktoberfest. (Get it?) On August 30th and 31st Noah’s Ark will become a celebration of everything German with over a dozen regional beer vendors, polka music, a German themed buffet and live entertainment. Again, the event is free with additional fees for water attraction access, beer and food.

I always say that the Wisconsin summers make suffering through winters like this last one worth it. And Noah’s Ark makes summer even that much more fun! Connect with Noah’s Ark on and !

What are you anxious to check out at Noah’s Ark this summer???
