It’s a Whole New World…
I think any of us over the age of 30 can grasp pretty fully how much computers and the Internet have changed our lives.
I remember being in grade school and going to work with my mom who was a computer systems analyst. I visited a room with her that served as the building’s computer hard drive. Yes, a whole room!
Her “take home” computer was the size of my largest piece of luggage. My first computer was a Commodore 64 and all commands had to be manually typed in. If you missed a : or a /, nothing happened. (It was maddening!!)
Now, people can e-mail from their cell phones. You can be in China and have a free video conference with your family in the US. It almost seems surreal when you stop to think about it.
It has changed how we communicate, how we do business, how we earn and spend money.
See how one man has used this to his advantage in his job search. I do not know him and (unfortunately) cannot vouch for his experience or work ethic. If nothing else, I can say that he is amazingly creative!
Maureen, thanks for not just a link, but a whole post! I really appreciate the help!
That’s pretty smart! I can tell he is working hard to get the word out. 🙂
I remember learning computers when I was in 2nd grade. Things were so different! And do you remember the only computer game back then? Pong! hahaha!!!
definitely a creative blogger!
my parents’ first computer was a Tandy. The thing was sloooooow. It used to make me so mad.
