Is the no!no! hair removal system for you?

I don’t know about you, but I HATE shaving my legs. It just seems like a colossal waste of time. My mornings are rushed enough without having to spend an extra five minutes running a razor all over my legs. And skipping it is not an option!
I’ve been on the lookout for a new way to eliminate this step from my daily routine. Laser hair removal sounds nice, but pricey.
Then I started hearing some buzz about this new device that sounded like the solution to my problems – the no!no! hair removal device. The name sounds a little strange, but the literature explains that this amazing appliance will make your legs (or whatever) hair-free with no pain, no noise, and no chemicals. Get it?
It goes on to promise that it will also slow hair regrowth AND reduce the number of hairs that grow back over time. It says that it uses Thermicon Technology which “works on the thermal principle of heat transference conducting a gentle pulse of heat to the hair. The shaft is then separated close to the skin, removing the hair, while the signal continues to travel down into the follicle where hair growth takes place. In the follicle the Thermicon signal destroys hair growth cells and delays regrowth. Clinical data show that hair regrowth can be reduced by as much as 94%. ” Basically, you just rub the thing over your skin – it doesn’t hurt or pull on the hair in any way.
“Sign me up!” I thought enthusiastically. The day the device arrived in the mail, I practically ripped in out of the poor UPS man’s hands. I had found my answer! I dutifully watched the enclosed instruction DVD and set about making my legs hair-free.
The first thing that I noticed was the smell. Have you ever smelled burning hair? It’s not pretty. “All in the name of beauty,” I thought and soldiered on. After about 20 minutes, I had removed much of the stubble that had been on my legs. There were some super short stubbly ones that were too small to be zapped by the magic Thermicon wire so I buffed those off with the buffing pad enclosed for just such troublesome pieces.
My legs felt smooth as silk!
A few days later, some of the hair started to come back in, so I repeated the process as instructed and continued the routine for a number of weeks. I was very encouraged that the hair, while not growing any more slowly, did seem to be reduced in its amount. “Ah-ha!,” I thought, “I just need to keep this up and eventually I will have no hair left!”
After another week or two, I seemed to hit a plateau. The same amount of hair seemed to have been growing back for a while now with no further reduction. Still, I kept on going with the routine.
After several months (you can’t say I didn’t give this thing a fair chance), I stopped using it altogether to see what would happen. Within two weeks, the hair had grown back to the way it was before I started using the no!no!.
What seems to happen is that the no!no! removes some of the hair while the buffing pad removes the rest at the surface. You now have two groups of hair, each on a different “growing schedule” so it appears that the hair is growing back finer. Once you stop using the system, all the hair grows back and you are back where you started. (This is my own personal theory of what happened.)
So – is the no!no! system for you?
Yes, this is the system for you if:
- You are looking for a razor-free, chemical-free way to remove the hair from your legs (or wherever)
- You don’t mind the smell of burning hair
- You have 20 minutes to spend on hair removal every two to three days
No, this is not the system for you if:
- You are looking for a permanent hair removal system
- You are looking for something faster than shaving
- You are bothered by the smell of burning hair.
Me? I’m a bit disappointed. I had hoped that this device would deliver all it had promised. I’m still hunting for a better solution than shaving!

Thanks for doing the research. When you listen to the infomercials one tends to get mesmerized by the “affidavits”. It sounds real and truthful but thank goodness for google-ing.
Please note that your blog does not show up on the first try (or page), I think that the advertisers ‘stack’ the deck on reviews against “negative” ones like this. But anyone who thinks a product has NO negative reviews, they are kidding themselves.
Thanks again:)
You ever hear about “sensa” maybe I should shut the TV off, nothing but scams. IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE…..
I’ve had the No No for a little over four weeks and am not impressed. It takes much longer and is much less effective than shaving for me on my legs. I have to go over and over and over my legs and I still have some short stubble and some longer hairs that just don’t get “zapped.” I also have those annoying hairs that pop out on my chin and I am really not impressed with how it works there. I had hoped to find something that would get rid of the hairs permanently. I would think about keeping the device if it actually got rid of the hairs for a while, but it just doesn’t do the trick……
