Win an iTunes Giftcard from My Living Stories

We spent LJ’s birthday (last week) at Old World Wisconsin. Many of you know that a tornado did a lot of damage to the town of Eagle, and sadly Old World Wisconsin was not completely spared. My breath caught in my throat when we entered the parking lot and what used to be a beautiful tree lined lot was nothing more than a barren field.

Luckily that was about the worst of it and things looked more like I remembered as we got further away from the parking area. The kids loved catching a glimpse into the past and seeing how simple life was back then.

My friend and I quietly whispered to each other that we didn’t know if we would have cut it back then. We both love our conveniences!

One convenience I would really miss is my iPhone. I resisted getting one for quite a while and now don’t know how I lived without it – it has so many practical uses! Just today, we got stuck in a line at the DMV and I was completely unprepared to amuse LJ. I handed him my iPhone and he happily played Checkers against an invisible opponent until we were done.

A great addition to your kid-distracting arsenal is My Living Stories, animated storybooks that bring stories to life on the iPhone and iPod Touch. My Living Stories apps use colorful and kid friendly artwork with narration and interactive features to bring classic story book tales alive for preschoolers.

The My Living Stories apps combine beautiful artwork, narration and interactive features in an easy to use platform that is perfect for preschoolers to read along all on their own, without any help. My Living Stories are a great solution for entertaining on-the-go or as an aid for teaching children to read at home. The apps allow for your child to read along with English narration or read the stories themselves. Interactive sounds and animation bring stories to life. Another great feature is the ability to record your own voice to go along with the story (this feature requires an iPhone or iPod Touch with microphone capabilities).

  5. I’d pick up King Midas to see how well these apps translate from book to screen. His is the most valuable lesson for children to learn these days. Thanks.

  6. “King Midas” was always a favorite story of mine as a child, and I still find its central message about greed and life priorities to be very relevant, so that would probably be my first choice of app from My Living Stories. Thanks!
