What’s that line from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”  That’s kind of how I’ve been feeling about mornings around here since that blasted time-change-“spring-forward”-thing happened.

Seriously. Who thought it was a good idea for most states (but not all) to mess around with what time it is twice a year?  Leap Day I get – if you don’t do it, the seasons get all wonky and out of whack.  (Yes, that is the scientific name for it!)  But all this does is mess with those of us who are very scheduled AND make us look foolish when we arrive somewhere an hour late on Sunday morning.

But I digress….

Because of the grumble grumble time change, LJ went from waking up on his own at 6:15 on the dot (seriously, you could set a clock by the boy) to me having to wake him up at 7:30 in order to get ready for school.  This drastically cut down on the amount of time available to get everyone ready and out the door in the morning.

Around this time I start wondering if I should go check and see if he is actually still in there.

And, since LJ seems to be in another one of his humongous growth spurts, he is eating us out of house and home.  No bowl of cereal is going to cut it for this kid, he’s been wanting bacon and eggs.

So imagine my relief when a large box of Tyson Breakfast Bowls showed up on my doorstep Saturday morning.  They provided a quick (big emphasis on quick!) and tasty breakfast treat for LJ on these rushed mornings.

Soooo happy to see these on my doorstep!

Because they were flaky, doughy biscuit-like bread bowls filled with eggs, bacon and cheese, LJ loved them from his first bite.

Can’t you almost smell them right through the screen?

I loved that they were so easy to prepare.  Check out these directions!  Pop in the microwave for the allotted time and PRESTO! breakfast is served.  You could have breakfast for four in under FOUR minutes.

Easy peasy – and FAST!

Another thing that I loved was that the bowl was a hearty breakfast.  It filled LJ up and kept him satisfied until lunch.

That smile is a ringing endorsement!!

  1. I am with you on the time change thing!! If I could ask the presidential candidates one thing, it would be who was willing to eliminate daylight savings time. They would have my vote right there.

I’m glad these ‘saved the day’ – even though it started an hour earlier!

  2. I think my son is getting ready to go through a growth spurt, too. He wants to eat non-stop. 🙂

I’ve not tried these yet, but am putting them on my grocery list. Thanks for sharing!

  3. The thought of them didn’t sound appealing, but man oh man, they do look delicious! I’m in!

    1. I agree Liz – wasn’t completely sold on them until they came out of the microwave. Then they smelled and looked SO GOOD!!

  4. A week later and I’m STILL trying to get used to this time change :/ These breakfast bowls look perfect for my kiddos when we’re having a hectic (aka usual) morning!
