Spotty Wifi at Home? Here’s an Easy Fix!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Milo Wifi. All opinions are 100% mine. Oh, and my excitement over having a strong and reliable wifi signal is completely mine. Well, my family is pretty jazzed about it too.

I don’t know about you, but I have zero patience with spotty wifi coverage – especially in my own home! It’s bad enough when we go out to a store or venue and the coverage is slow and drops constantly, but to have it happen at home? Unacceptable! As a work from home business owner, reliable wifi is a must for me. While I do have a dedicated office, I also do a lot of my work at the kitchen table, on the couch, even in the backyard when the weather is nice. And slow internet makes my blood boil – ask anyone who has watched me growl at my laptop as my video takes forever to upload.

We recently changed our ISP and got a new router, so our wifi is humming along better than it was before, but we were still having issues. We’ve added a number of devices that run off our home wifi like our new garage door opener and our security cameras. Both of these items reside in the garage and had been acting up due to a weak wifi signal. Our router is located on the opposite side of the house and down a floor. (We have a ranch so it’s quite a distance.)

I had attempted to fix the situation by purchasing a cheap booster device at my local big box store and it did not help at all. It actually created a new network which didn’t work with our security system as all of the devices need to be on the same network. I was at a loss on how to handle it.

When Milo Wifi reached out with a system that promised to help our wifi signal reach every nook and corner of our home and – wait for it – even into the yard and driveway, I couldn’t put my order in fast enough! The Milo arrived and was pretty darn easy to set up, just as promised. Check it out!

For a non-technical person like myself, not having to install and configure a whole new router was a dream come true for me. Since Milo just boosts the wifi signal you already have, hooking it up is as easy as just plugging it in and connecting to your existing network. And the cool thing is it gives you options – you can create a new network OR boost your existing network. You can get either a 2-pack or a 3-pack, depending on the size of the space you need to cover.

Once we had the Milo up and running, not only did our outdoor devices work better, but we all noticed that our laptops, tablets and even phones were faster and had a better connection, especially in the living room which is at the opposite end of the house from the router. And we didn’t even realize we were having any issues with those!

  1. Our only source of internet connection in the location where we live is either wifi, or mifi (jet pack). This would be a great addition for making our connection less spotty!

  2. This sounds like a great way to get WiFi to all parts of the house. We have a really good router, but even it can’t reach “the dead zone” that is the far bedroom in the upstairs. That room is where WiFi goes to die. LOL

  3. Oooh I love this!! We have THICK walls (I live in a historic log cabin from 1800s) and there is NO way to get signal on either upstairs living area! Oh, and going outside, well, that just isn’t happening….I’d say these are two really good reasons to get a milo!

  4. This is exactly what we need for our house. I have always had a hard time getting a good signal upstairs. I will have to pick one up this weekend. My Son will be so happy.

  5. I really need to get this. We have great wifi downstairs, but as soon as you go upstairs, it’s hit or miss if it’s going to work. Noting is more irritating than spotty wifi!

  6. I got to have this! I move around the house taking along my laptop with me so I can continue working and doing other household chores. It is so frustrating to have to face a certain direction to get good, uninterrupted wifi signal! I think this is going to solve our problem. Thanks for the review!

  7. We live in a historic home that is actually two separate buildings. WiFi is Greg in the main house, but not so great elsewhere. This sounds like the perfect solution.
