Pairing Wine and Music with Notes of Cambria

This post was sponsored by Cambria Winery as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

One of my favorite evenings out is attending wine pairings. While I certainly love wine on its own or with a good meal, there is something special about taking the time to notice how wine pairs with different flavors. We’ve attended pairings with chocolate and with cheese but I have to admit that I had never thought of pairing wine with music!

Yes, I’ve been to concerts on the green where we brought or bought wine to enjoy while listening, but never even thought of having specific wines go with specific pieces of music. But what a perfect idea, right? The owners of Cambria challenged a local musician to create musical pieces to match the moods two of their wines evoke.

He composed the  Pinot Noir Waltz to be a companion to Cambria’s Benchbreak Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Shanty matches perfectly with Cambria’s Benchbreak Chardonnay. I love how the shanty is light and airy like the Chardonnay and the waltz feels more earthy and grounded, like the Pinot Noir. I’ve never really thought about equating tastes with sounds, but once I heard what Kalei did, I thought he nailed it perfectly. Didn’t you?

I don’t know a lot about wine production, so I was interested to learn that Cambria’s Benchbreak Chardonnay and Benchbreak Pinot Noir are estate grown and bottled, high quality, immensely flavorful wines that are expressive of California’s Santa Maria Valley, the wine-growing region where they’re from.

If you are anything like me, you’re going to want to run out and grab some Cambria wine so that you can savor the flavors as you listen to the musical pieces again and again. You find out where can pick up the wines mentioned in the videos here. You can also connect with Cambria wines on Facebook and Twitter.
