Happy Birthday, Milwaukee County Zoo!!

Today we attended the Centennial Celebration Kickoff at the Milwaukee County Zoo. It’s hard to believe that the zoo has been around for 100 years! Of course, back in 1910, it looked much different (and they have a whole display of pictures to prove it!).

The celebration included yummy treats, folks from Old World Wisconsin dressed like it was 1910 again, games, crafts, and a cake decorating contest. The cakes that were created were amazing!! Here are just a few:

We were able to sample some of the cake and it tasted as good as it looks!! We had a very happy guy on our hands after that!

The Zoo has several new animals you can check out – the two new tiger cubs are adorable and Happy the Hippo is adjusting nicely to his new home and loves to have visitors.

The Zoo’s winter hours are Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
