Easy Ways to Save Money at the Wisconsin State Fair

Yes folks, it’s that time again. Time to smell see the animals. Time to ride the rides. Time to visit the infomercial tent. Time to eat chocolate covered bacon.

What?????

Yes, I’m serious. This year the Wisconsin State Fair healthy diet includes chocolate covered bacon. (I’ll be passing on that one but be sure to try it and leave me a comment on how it is.)

If you are looking to save a little money at the fair this year, here are a few ways you can keep more dollars in your pocket:

1. Take advantage of special ticket days.

  • Today – donate two canned goods and pay $2 for admission.
  • Friday – show your Illinois drivers license and get 2 adult admission tickets for $10.
  • Monday – adult admission only $6 with a coupon from www.sprecherbrewery.com/fair
  • Wednesday – boy and girl scouts in uniform get in free, leaders in uniform get $2 off

2. Once in the Fair, head to an information booth and grab the Fair Advantage Coupon Booklet for lots of money saving coupons.

3. Grab a rides wristband for unlimited rides for the kiddos.

  • Get one day of unlimited rides for $25
  • Get unlimited rides for the length of the Fair (11 days) for $60

4. Take advantage of Crazy Grazin’ Day on Tuesday, August 11th when many food vendors will be offering smaller portions for smaller prices. Perfect for kids or if you like to try a little of everything.

Whatever you do, have a great time and don’t forget to check back and let me know how that State Fair chocolate bacon was…

  1. Too bad that would be one heck of a road trip. I love state fairs – especially with deals on admission.
