Treat Yourself to Better Skin

I never really understood the whole attraction of visiting a medispa when I was younger. I was all about the relaxing facials and massages and words like “dermabrasion” sounded uncomfortable and NOT relaxing at all. Then I got a little older and began seeing those little signs of aging creeping onto my face and I decided that maybe I ought to look into that whole medispa thing after all. I had also heard of using red light therapy to help tighten skin, but didn’t have access to that particular service.

I was starting to see these fine lines at the corners of my eyes. (I think they are called crow’s feet.) I was also seeing some horizontal lines on my forehead and noticing the skin on my chin was looking rougher than it used to. When I asked some of my friends what moisturizing cream they were using, they told me I needed to take it a step beyond just cream and check out microdermabrasion.

When I first looked into microdermabrasion treatment, I kind of blanched at the price a bit. I found a Groupon for the medispa in my area and went in for a consultation and treatment. The microdermabrasion was painless and easy and I did feel like my skin was a bit smoother afterward. The owner let me know that I was actually going to need a series of treatments to see real improvement, especially with those fine lines.

I was kind of discouraged as I wasn’t looking forward to paying for weeks and weeks worth of microdermabrasion treatments not to mention the time investment of setting up appointments and driving to and from them. I admit, I kind of dropped the idea and figured the crow’s feet were character building.

When I was offered the chance to try an in-home microdermabrasion system, I figured why not? I was a little concerned that I wouldn’t know how to use it correctly but that was quickly put to rest when I learned a little more about that actual device. The device I am trying out is the Trophy Skin MicrodermMD Professional-Grade Home System. I went to their site and watched a bunch of the how-to videos like this one:

I love that the device has an auto mode that actually walks you through the whole process step by step and lets you know how much time to spend on each area. It also adjusts the intensity depending on what section of the face or neck you are working on. It really is foolproof!

I’ve used the device a few times and found it quick and easy. I love that I can do it at my own convenience and in my home. I’ll be reporting back in a few weeks to let you know what my thoughts are on the results I see.

Check out my results after using the MicrodermMD to perform microdermabrasion at home!!

  1. I have always wanted to try microdermabrasion, but I was scared off by the price too. I never thought about doing an at home kit. This is a great idea. It is exactly what my skin needs.

  2. Wow. A do it at home microdermabrasion kit! I mean getting this may seem pricey at first but it will actually save us more money than going for facial treatments at a skin clinic several times a year. Thanks for the product review. I am going to check on this and most probably add it to my Christmas wish list!

  3. I can’t wait to see your results. My sister in law does the pricey treatments, but doing it at home for less really interests me if you get proven results. I’ll be sure to check back!

  4. Nice article! My friend has used this device and it is an effective treatment to make skin free from wrinkles and other signs of aging. I like this article so much. Thanks for sharing.
