Insomnia can get expensive!
Occasionally I have bouts of insomnia. They usually last only a few nights, but they tend to leave me feeling pretty wiped out. I get frustrated since I am too tired to enjoy reading or internet surfing, but still can’t seem to sleep. The worst part are those long dark hours between one and five in the morning. There is absolutely nothing on tv during those hours.
Except infomercials. You know the ones I mean right? The ones that run 30 minutes and prey on the fact that your mind is a bit foggy at that hour of the night/morning?
They have occasionally enticed me to pick up the phone and grab my credit card at some odd hour of the night. Some of them have turned out to be pretty good purchases, once I got them:
WEN Cleansing Conditioner ? Liked it.
The Shark Steam Mop ? Love it!
The Cricut Cutter? Double love it!
Jack Lalanne’s Power Juicer ? Hands down – the BEST juicer on the market…it even juices wheat grass and is a breeze to clean up.
On occasion, I have been disappointed with what arrived (and I usually take advantage of that “money back guarantee):
A certain egg shaped foot shaver? Didn’t remove a single callus or rough spot.
A steamer promising to cut my cleaning time in half? Made everything very wet but did not cut grease or dirt. Bah!
The other night I was having trouble falling back asleep after one of Little J’s nightmares and started flipping around the channels. I was watching an infomercial for something or other (I don’t even remember what it was) and started to open my nightstand drawer to grab a tissue when I hear Big J (who I thought was sound asleep) say “Put down the phone!” with out even opening his eyes. Think I have a problem???
So fess up, Internets. What have you bought from those late night infomercials? Did you keep it? Was it a good purchase? We want to know!
I bought one of those oven gloves off of an infomercial. It works pretty well.
Sarah
Pedi Paws.. I was skeptical but it’s the only thing my spaz dog Shady will allow me to use on her teradactel (sp) toes and it works like a charm. I use it on the birds nails and beaks as well and it’s awesome. It’s a glorified dremel but it’s easier for my little hands to manage then one.
Now go to sleep.
Love love love my Proactiv!
I had insomnia a few months back, and it sucked!
And proactiv never worked for me. It made me break out worse. Those phone operators said that was supposed to happen, to get rid of the last possible break out. Yeah right. Weeks later, I was still having break outs.
