Uno Roboto – A new twist on an old game…

I grew up playing Uno.  In fact, I remember sitting on the “big rock” at the end of my best friend’s driveway and playing for literally hours on end.  It’s a game I enjoyed as a kid and now enjoy playing with my kid!  (Did you know that Uno is turning FORTY this year? Seriously!)

You’d think that they wouldn’t be able to improve on an old classic like Uno, but you’d be wrong!  Uno Roboto keeps all of the essential elements of the original Uno game, but adds a unique electronic twist.  Players start by recording their name and one house rule.  The house rule can be anything you’d like.  Some we used were “stand up” or “touch your nose”.

You then go on to play the traditional Uno, but at any time the robot can change the direction of play, select specific players to be skipped or included, and issue a house rule challenge.  It makes the game quiet lively at times and challenges the usual strategies you might use.

Uno Roboto is available at most retailers for $29.99 and makes a great holiday gift for any age. Be sure to stop over and “like” Uno on Facebook.

Through the end of the year, ToysRUs is running a special promotion where you will receive a free Shutterfly photo book with the purchase of certain Mattel board games (Uno games are included in this deal!)

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of UNO Roboto and received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
