Shaklee Cleaners: Safe and Effective!! Non-Toxic #GetClean

When I first had LJ, I suddenly got very conscious about all of the chemicals in my home.  I made a real effort to switch to only using non-toxic products, especially when it came to the floor and other areas where he could easily reach by himself.

As he got older and I became (fairly) confident that he would not be licking the floor or chewing on the toilet seat, I became a bit more relaxed about what I used in the house.  I tried to keep to relatively “safe” cleaners, but went back to a few that I had used before out of habit.

Enter Roofus, our rescue dog, and suddenly I am feeling like a new mom all over again!  Roofus does both lick the floor AND chew on anything he can reach, so I am feeling the need to get back to green and clean basics!

When I approached about doing a review of Shaklee Cleaners, I thought it would be a good match for our family.  Not only are the Shaklee cleaning products free of harmful fumes and toxic chemicals, they use far less packaging and help reduce what goes into our local landfill.  One of the things I have grown to love about the Shaklee line is that they have a product for just about every need I have: laundry detergent and dryer sheets, air and fabric refresher, cleaning wipes, bathroom cleaner, all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, dish cleaners, you name it.  And I have found that the best part is…they work!!

  1. All we use is one all-purpose cleaner because, of chemicals. It is all-natural but, it is almost all gone and doesn’t work for some jobs. I could use a green cleaning makeover.

  2. chlorine bleach mostly but found some bottles that where so old I couldn’t even read them.

  3. I have a bottle of bleach. Not sure if our shower can survive without it, but I’m willing to give it a try!

  4. I have bleach under the sink. Not sure if our shower can get really clean without it, but I’m willing to try a friendlier product! Thanks for the chance to win.

  5. I have sodium hypochlorite (Soft Scrub), “contains cleaning agents” was listed for Swiffer–no actual ingredients listed, bleach, sodium hypochlorite (bleach), and perfumes.

  6. It looks like all my cleaners have at least a few horrible ingredients…biggest being bleach and various acids!

  7. No because I use only natural cleaners such as coconut oil dish soap and glass cleaner as well as vinegar and peroxide and baking soda … I think the only really bad one I have is Pine Sol.

  8. I use vinegar and hot water to clean with usually. So I have a bottle of vinegar under my sink and that is is.

  9. I found sodium hydroxide. We recently adopted a dog, so I would like to start using ‘green’ cleaning products.

  10. I looked at all the cleaners in my kitchen and even bathroom and none listed ingredients. Not a good sign!

  11. There is absolutely nothing under my sink at the moment except trash bags. However, I normally have dishsoap and dish detergent in there that probably have all those nasty ingredients in them. I’d love to try the Shaklee products!

  12. The only thing I have under my sink is tabs for the dishwasher. We keep all of our chemicals locked up in the bathroom closet on the top shelf.

  13. Thanks for the giveaway…we have a bottle of heavy duty limescale / rust remover with some nasty ingredients; most of the rest is “green”.
